Effective date: November 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how AVIF Gallery for Android (the “App”) handles information. It applies to the App, not to other products, websites, or services operated by the developer. The App lets you browse, view, edit, convert, export, share, and delete images stored on your device or selected by you.
1. Information We Collect or Process
The App does not operate an account system or a developer-operated server. The following information is processed on your device to provide features you request:
- Images and file information: images you authorize the App to browse or select, and related file names, formats, dates, and other information needed to display, sort, edit, convert, export, or delete them.
- Image metadata: embedded EXIF information, which may include the photo’s date and time, camera details, and GPS coordinates. The App can preserve selected metadata in exported images according to your settings. On supported Android versions, reading original GPS metadata may require the separate “Access media location” permission. This is information embedded in a photo, not the App tracking your device’s live location.
- App settings: preferences such as conversion quality, metadata-preservation choices, display settings, and a custom save-folder selection. These are stored in the App’s local preferences. Android device-backup settings may back up some app data.
- Temporary files: image and thumbnail caches, and temporary files needed for image processing. These are stored in the App’s cache on the device.
- Messages you send us: if you contact the developer by email, the developer receives your email address, message, and any attachments so it can respond.
The App requests photo or media access according to your Android version so it can show and process images. You can also provide individual images or choose a save folder through Android’s system document picker. The App does not send your images, image metadata, search terms, or app settings to the developer.
2. How We Use Information
Information processed by the App is used to provide the feature you select: display and organize images, create previews, edit or convert files, preserve metadata according to your settings, save exports to your chosen location, share files at your direction, and carry out deletion requests. Local preferences are used to remember your choices. Temporary cache files support performance and can be recreated.
Image editing and conversion take place on your device after the source file is made available to the App. If you select a file from a cloud-backed document provider, that provider may access or transfer the file under its own privacy practices. The developer does not receive image content through the App. If you choose to share an image, Android passes it to the app or recipient you select; that service’s own privacy practices then apply.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Google services. Their handling of information is governed by Google’s policies and applicable service terms:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): the App can request rewarded ads in builds where advertising is configured and consent permits ad requests. Ads may be offered when you start a multi-image conversion. Google’s SDK may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, app and device information, ad delivery or interaction information, and diagnostics to deliver, measure, and protect advertising. The App does not intentionally include selected image content in ad requests.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): the App requests consent information and presents consent or privacy-choice forms where Google requires them. UMP may store or transmit consent and privacy-choice information so those choices can be applied. Advertising requests are made only when ads are configured and Google’s consent information allows them.
- Google Play Billing: Google Play handles checkout and purchase records for the optional one-time “Remove Ads” purchase. The App checks purchase status to provide or restore the entitlement; the developer does not operate a payment server for this feature.
Google’s role and responsibilities depend on the service and information involved. Review the Google Privacy Policy, Google’s advertising and measurement disclosures, and Google Play Terms of Service.
4. Advertising
Advertising is conditional on the installed build: the App requests ads only when advertising has been configured for that build. When enabled, a rewarded ad is required to start a batch conversion of two or more images; single-image conversions are not gated, and “Remove Ads” bypasses the ad requirement. Google and its advertising partners may use the information described above for ad delivery, frequency control, fraud prevention, measurement, and, depending on your consent and device or account settings, personalization. Google may use an advertising identifier and technologies that serve similar purposes to cookies in mobile apps. The App itself does not use browser cookies.
The App uses Google UMP to request and manage privacy choices where applicable. You can use the privacy options in the App’s Settings when they are shown, and manage advertising preferences through your Android or Google account settings. Buying “Remove Ads” disables ads in the App. Google’s handling of ad data and available controls are explained in its advertising disclosures and Privacy Policy.
5. Analytics and Diagnostics
The App does not integrate a separate analytics or crash-reporting service. Google Mobile Ads may process diagnostics and ad-delivery measurements as part of its advertising service when ads are configured. Google Play and Android may separately process information under their own services and settings.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App does not set website browser cookies. Google’s advertising or consent SDKs may use an Android advertising identifier, local storage, or similar technologies for advertising, consent management, security, and measurement. You can manage available consent choices in the App’s Settings when shown and use Android or Google controls to manage advertising preferences.
7. Data Retention
Images and exported files remain in the device or save location you choose until you or another app deletes them. The App’s temporary image and thumbnail caches remain on the device until cleared by the App, Android, or you. App preferences remain until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it; some preferences may be included in device backups depending on your Android backup settings. Clearing the App’s data does not delete exported images from shared storage or a custom folder.
Email inquiries are retained as needed to respond and handle follow-up, and longer only where required for legal obligations or the resolution of a dispute.
Google retains information associated with advertising, consent, and Play purchases according to its own policies and retention practices. The App provides a restore-purchase option where Google Play makes the purchase available.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is a general-purpose image utility and is not designed specifically for children. The App does not create user accounts or knowingly collect children’s personal information for the developer. Advertising availability and treatment are subject to the age, consent, and account settings applicable to the installed build and Google services. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, contact us using the details below.
9. Data Security
Image processing and App preferences are handled on the device, using Android’s app sandbox and the access permissions you grant. The App does not maintain a developer-operated server containing your images or settings. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; Google services and any app you choose for sharing are responsible for their own security practices. Keep your device and Android software up to date and review the permissions granted to the App.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. To exercise a right relating to information held by the developer, contact us below. The App does not maintain a server-side account or image library for the developer to search or delete.
You can manage the App’s photo and media permissions in Android Settings; change metadata, display, and save-location preferences in the App; clear its cache or data; delete images using the App or your file-management tools; and uninstall the App. You can manage available ad-consent choices in the App’s Settings and advertising preferences through Android or Google account controls. To exercise rights over information Google processes, use Google’s privacy controls or contact Google as described in its Privacy Policy. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, the developer’s intended legal bases for app-level processing are providing features you request and the legitimate interests in retaining the preferences and temporary files needed to operate those features. Where consent is legally required for advertising-related processing, the App requests and records your choice through UMP. Google determines the legal bases for information it processes for its own services. You may withdraw consent where applicable; withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
11. International Data Transfers
The developer does not operate a server that receives App images or settings. Google may process information associated with advertising, consent, and Play Billing in countries other than the country where you live. Google describes its processing and applicable international-transfer arrangements in its Privacy Policy and relevant service terms. Contact Google for details about its transfers and safeguards.
12. Accounts and Deletion Requests
The App does not offer user accounts, and the developer does not maintain an account or cloud profile to delete. To remove local App data, clear the App’s data or uninstall it in Android Settings. This does not remove exported images from shared device storage or delete information retained by Google for its services; use Google’s account and privacy controls for those requests.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when the App or its data practices change, or when legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide any notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law.
14. Contact Information
For purposes of applicable data-protection laws, the controller for the App’s own processing is the app developer, Nesique. For privacy questions or requests relating to the App, contact Nesique at nesique.dev@gmail.com.
